Third AGAIN! Hoard Returns to Victory Lane, Faxon Wins 358 as JR Gets 7th
West Lebanon, NY - There really could be only 2 words that described the racing a the legendary high banks at Lebanon Valley Speedway this past Saturday Night: Full Moon! Lets just say, the racing was wild and the and slightly out of the ordinary for a full night of action presented by Gendron’s Truck Center and Bonded Concrete.

Mother Nature dampened the start to the night as a light shower delayed the start of the night by 1 hour. But the racing devoted still piled into the stands when the motors began to rumble. The most interesting race of the night was the mighty Big Block Modifieds.

At the start of the 30 lap feature event, Ryan Larkin charged out to the early lead. His #39 showed early that he was gonna be tough to get around, let alone catch. By lap 6 the #94 of Ray Hoard darted past Hector Stratton’s #87 to settle into 2nd.

Back in the field, Kenny Tremont Jr, Brett Hearn, Andy Bachetti, and Donnie Corellis were all struggling to get through the strong field of cars. The close competition made it difficult for the big guns gain positions. That lead to some frustrations when on lap 20, contact was made by the #34B of Bachetti sending the #77F of Mark Flach Jr into the spin cycle in turn 4.

Bachetti was sent to the rear for the contact, but the #77F made contact with the #34b under caution, forcing the officials to black flag Flach, and relegate him to last place finish.

But back at the front, the full moon once again reared its ugly head as Ryan Larkin’s night came to sudden end on lap 26 as the rear axle broke on the restart. That handed over the lead to the #94. That was all it was gonna take, as Ray Hoard makes it only the 2nd driver to repeat this season at the Valley of Speed.

Guy Sheldon battled his way into the runner-up spot, while J.R. Heffner Keith Flach, and Brett Hearn locked up the top five.

Earlier in the night, the 358’s suffered from Full Moon fever too as their 24 lap feature as it took 4 restarts, and 2 cars to the rear for jumping the start to get the race under way. Once the field finally got sorted out, Kim Herrick emerged as the early leader with the #34 of Steve Hough in toe.

But by lap 6, the #171 leaped fogged his way into the lead and took control of the field. Hot on his heels was the #20H of Brett Hearn as he settled in to stage a challenge.

That was gonna be the way they finished as Hearn, and Bachetti had nothing for Faxon as the #171 of Tom Faxon scores the win. Hearn was followed by Bachetti, with Kim Herrick, and Steve Hough rounding out the top 5.
